The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed has renewed the commitment of the Scheme towards actualizing all the ideals of service innovation drive of the Federal Government in line with the renewed Civil service strategy and implementation plan.
He stated this on Monday while delivering an address at the flag-off of the innovation sensitization campaign for officers of the Scheme, held at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.
Represented by the Director, General Services, Yusuf Baba Abdullahi, the Director General disclosed that the Scheme has trained Service innovation pipeline officers in all its formations as well as many Corps Members who are driving the service innovation campaign at the grassroots.
Speaking further, General Ahmed assured all stakeholders that the Scheme is leaving no stone unturned towards elevating its Servicom rating as a four-star agency with more innovations in its operations.
In his goodwill message, the Permanent Secretary, Special Duties, Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, who was represented by Mrs Nkiru Nneji, said the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation plan has been envisioned to introduce many innovations that will guarantee effective service delivery.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the head of Reforms Unit, Mr Sunday Aroni stated that the sensitization campaign was aimed at reawakening the creative skills of officers who will drive the innovation process in their assigned tasks as well as sensitize other stakeholders.
The sensitization campaign, themed “innovation, the new frontier”, exposes officers of all grade levels in NYSC to new trends and innovations that can ease and speed up the attainment of the Scheme’s goals.
