No one will be short-changed, Folarin assures Adeolu Akande’s group – Reported by Oladejo Adebisi

The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress in Oyo State, Sen. Teslim Folarin has assured representatives of the Adeolu Akande Group of fair treatment and inclusiveness in the affairs of the party in the state towards winning the 2023 governorship election in the state.

He made this pledge in Saki on Wednesday while meeting with the representatives of the group from the ten local governments areas of Oke-Ogun zone as part of his reconciliatory/consultations runs in Oke-ogun aimed at re- positioning the party for victory in the coming elections.

He stressed that politics is about disagreements due to inevitable clash of interests which needed to be addressed so it doesn’t escalate to crisis of unresolvable proportion and which does no good to anyone. “in politics, we kick and jab one another but we still need to talk until we arrive at a meeting point” he declared.

The meeting which the governorship candidate hinted came about as a result of his series of consultations with the leader of the group, Prof Adeolu Akande is a demonstration of Akande’s commitment to the victory of the party at both the Federal and state levels, on which platform he’s currently occupying the exalted position of the Chairman of the Board of Nigeria Communications Commission, vowing that he will make sure the members of the group will not be “short-changed”. The meeting signaled the start of a process which shall be ongoing until both parties reach a common, mutually fulfilling position for which he is optimistic.

In his response, a Coordinator of the group, and former ALGON chairman in the state, Hon. Yekeen Popoola commended the reconciliatory move, pointing out that as loyal members of the party, the group is highly expectant of adequate and equitable representation in the party structure as a core issue to be resolved towards achieving the desired cohesion.

Other leaders of the Adeolu Akande Group present are: Hon. Adisa Adeniji, Hon Saheed Alaran, Hon. Wasiu Olatunbosun ( all ex-chairmen of  Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Olorunsogo LGAs), Esv. Ismail Adewoyin, Oke-Ogun project convener, Surveyor Kunle Busari and Hon. Dejo Adebisi – former SSA, media, with at least five representatives of the group from each of the ten local governments in attendance.
