The Executive Chairman of the Nigerian Capital Development Fund,NCDF, Hareter Babatunde Oralusi, has expressed optimism about the prospects for improved living standards in Nigeria in the coming year. Speaking at the organization’s end-of-year celebration in Lagos, Oralusi highlighted the groundwork laid by the federal government in 2024, which he believes will yield positive outcomes by the second quarter of 2025.
“The federal government has created a strong sustainable template that will positively impact the lives of citizens,” Oralusi stated. “If efforts are intensified in early 2025, we can expect significant progress to materialize in the second quarter.”
Oralusi outlined NCDF’s strategic focus for 2025, emphasizing key sectors such as: Renewable Energy, Affordable Housing, Financial Inclusion and Support for Startups.
He also announced plans for NCDF’s subsidiaries, NCDF Investment Management Plc and Konto Financial Group Plc, to enter the capital market this year, a move expected to bolster the organization’s capacity to drive impactful initiatives.
Reflecting on his commitment to Nigeria’s development, Oralusi shared, “I am deeply passionate about the progress of our great country and ensuring a better quality of life for everyone, particularly children and youth.” He called on all stakeholders—private, public, and social—to join hands with President Tinubu in achieving rapid developmental goals.
“This is not the time for politics,” he emphasized. “The masses are enduring significant challenges. We must set aside personal ambitions and collaborate for the greater good. The government has demonstrated good intentions and is ready to make impactful changes, but they cannot do it alone. Multi-stakeholder collaboration is critical to moving Nigeria forward.”
