In a heartfelt letter, on Monday, signed by its Acting Director General, Dr Agaba Iduh Fidel, the interim management of the National Commission Against the Proliferation of Arms, Light Weapons, and Ammunitions (NATCOM), has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his “well-deserved reelection as the chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).” 

The letter commended President Tinubu’s leadership and dedication to promoting democracy, peace, security, and development in the West African sub-region. It highlighted his inspiring vision for a more democratic and prosperous ECOWAS, expressing confidence that under his continued guidance, the organization will achieve even greater heights.

Dr Agaba Iduh Fidel emphasized that President Tinubu’s reelection is a testament to the trust and confidence that the member states of ECOWAS have in his ability to lead and steer the organization towards a brighter future. The letter expressed strong belief that his leadership will bring about positive change and progress in the entire West Africa.

Furthermore, the letter expressed the eagerness of the volunteer workforce to work closely with President Tinubu and ECOWAS in their shared mission to combat the proliferation of small arms, light weapons, and ammunition in West Africa through collaboration with relevant security agencies. It highlighted the importance of creating a safer and more secure environment for all citizens through such collaborative efforts with security forces in the country.

In closing, the letter once again congratulated President Tinubu and wished him continued success in his endeavors as the chairman of ECOWAS as the Interim management of NATCOM re emphasized its readiness to support and collaborate with President Tinubu in achieving their shared goals for the region.
