Foremost columnist, social critic and journalism lecturer, Professor Farooq A. Kperogi is intrigued by the reactions and counter-reactions of some Nigerians to his articles against some prominent Nigerians, including President Muhammadu Buhari; Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami as well as Muslim clerics from the northern part of the country.
In a post on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, Kperogi wrote:
Some of the same people who a few months ago invoked al-Qunut prayers for Allah to destroy me for relentlessly beaming critical search lights on (President) Buhari, for condemning northern Nigeria’s Muslim clerical elites’ enablement of Buhari’s rise to power, and for doggedly calling out Sheikh (Isa Ali ) Pantami’s (Federal University of Technology, Owerri) FUTO professorial fraud are now praying for Allah to preserve me.
“And some of the same people who prayed for Jesus’ protection over me for precisely what some people invoked al-Qunut on me for are now praying that Holy Ghost Fire should burn me to a crisp for calling out (Vice President Yemi) Osinbajo’s religious bigotry.
“Aren’t you guys confusing Allah and Jesus?”
