Speaker of Lagos State House Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, has been impeached.

Obasa, from Agege, was impeached on Monday.

He was replaced immediately with Hon Mojisola Meranda (Apapa State Constituency I).
Hon Meranda, nee Ojora, is a former Chief Whip of the 40-member House.
The lawmakers in impeaching Obasa accused him of multiple statutory and financial infractions involving more than N40 billion.
He had also been locked in some political tussles with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, necessitating the intervention of President Bola Tinubu on a number of occasions to broker peace.
