The Executive Secretary, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board ( NSPWB), Alhaji Umar Makun Lapai, has assured that the board has already put machinaries in motion for the successful takeoff of hajj savings scheme in the state.
Alhaji Lapai stated this on Tuesday after meeting with the management of Jaiz Bank, Minna branch, according to a statement issued by Hassan D. Idris, Chief Information Officer of NSPWB.
The NSPWB Chairman said the purpose for the interface was to discuss on how to ensure that rural communities were sensitized enough to know the benefits of the hajj savings scheme, adding that the board has already put in some structures and will soon commence collection of hajj fares on pay-as-you-go and hajj savings scheme.
He explained that the desk officers in charge of Hajj savings scheme will be trained by the bank to acquaint them with the banking procedure.
Alh.Makun Lapai further assured the bankers of their readiness to key in to the scheme in full force through aggressive sensitization and other related activities.
