The Lagos State Infrastructure Asset Management Agency has resumed the renovation process of the State’s  Digital Village in Alausa, Ikeja, the capital city.

This was contained in a press release signed by LASIAMA Director, Public Affairs Unit, Rasak Musbau, on Tuesday.

Musbau said the Digital village is a pivotal project aimed at enhancing economic development, technology, and community engagement within the State.

LASIAMA General Manager, Adenike Adekanbi, said the renovation of the Digital Village was initially envisioned as a simple facelift but after extensive consultations and detailed planning, the project scope was expanded to include major upgrades, ensuring that the improvements would be far more than just superficial.

She stressed that the strategic shift required additional resources and adjustments to the project timeline to accommodate the comprehensive enhancements planned.

“While it may not be immediately visible from the outside, I am pleased to report that 90% of the renovation work has already been completed”, Adekanbi stated.

She further disclosed that the ongoing upgrades include significant structural improvements such as the reconstruction of the roof, general tiling of all floors – encompassing halls, offices, and lobbies – along with a full overhaul of existing electrical and mechanical fixtures, adding that both walls and floors of all restrooms are being tiled, and a new POP ceiling has been constructed for every floor.

The General Manager further revealed the Agency’s determination to deliver a final product that aligns with both expectations and best practices in facility management.

“Despite the challenges we face, LASIAMA remains resolute in achieving significant progress on the Digital Village renovation as swiftly as possible”, she  affirmed.

Musbau said the Agency’s commitment to quality and innovation is set to transform the Digital Village into a vibrant hub for technology and community engagement, ultimately contributing to the economic development of Lagos State.
