The Lagos State Government has invited event organisers, promoters, creatives, hospitality operators and cultural institutions to submit proposals for seasonal activities and celebrations across the state.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, is aimed at creating a coordinated calendar of events to promote tourism, entertainment, cultural heritage and hospitality during festive periods.
The activities will cover major celebrations, including Christmas, New Year, Easter, Eid, Independence Day and other cultural festivities.

Speaking on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at her office in Alausa, the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, said the call for entries was designed to create a unified, inclusive and well-coordinated seasonal experience across Lagos.

“Lagos thrives on celebrations. As a Ministry, we want to harmonise all seasonal activities happening across the state to ensure visibility, wider participation and economic benefits for our stakeholders. This platform will allow event owners to leverage the State’s promotional machinery and reach a larger audience,” she said.

Benson-Awoyinka added that selected events would be featured on the official Lagos Tourism Calendar and promoted through the ministry’s digital platforms.
She said organisers of selected events could also benefit from collaboration and logistical support, where applicable.

According to the ministry, the initiative is intended to strengthen Lagos’ position as a leading destination for tourism, entertainment, culture and hospitality in Africa while providing residents and visitors with memorable experiences.

The programme will cover the state’s five divisions of Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe.

Eligible activities include festivals and carnivals, concerts and live shows, theatre and comedy performances, beach and waterfront events, food, fashion and lifestyle fairs, art exhibitions, cultural showcases, family and community gatherings, as well as sports and recreational activities.

The ministry said interested stakeholders must provide the name of their proposed event, a brief description and its objectives, proposed dates and venue, target audience, and the organiser’s contact details.

Submissions are to be forwarded to the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Block 10, The Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
Proposals can also be sent to olajumokejames@gmail.com, bolanleasuquo@gmail.com and senimaks@yahoo.co.uk. Further enquiries can be made through 08023232068.

The ministry said submissions would remain open ahead of each seasonal period, urging interested stakeholders to submit their proposals early to allow adequate planning, coordination and publicity.
