Simon Ekpa, a top Biafra Commander who is based in Finland has been arrested by the Finland authorities on Thursday.
A Finland news platform first reported that the popular pro-Biafra separatist agitator, was arrested and escorted by the HS police escorted out of his apartment in Lahti.
The Finland Embassy in Abuja has confirmed the development back home to journalists on Thursday.
“It is our understanding that he is currently in police custody in Finland.
“According to information available to us, the image is verified by Helsingin Sanomat, a Finnish newspaper; in it, Ekpa is seen being escorted out of his home in Lahti by plainclothes Finnish police”, an official of the Embassy said.
Ekpa, a self-acclaimed disciple of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, had repeatedly ordered the people of the South-East to observe a sit-at-home order, mostly on Monday.
His repeated sit-at-home order has been marked by bloodshed and destruction of lives and properties in the region by its enforcers.
He had asked them to boycott the country’s general elections billed for Saturday.
