“Reflecting on the event of today, I can only say thank you to God Almighty, the Creator of man on the surface of the earth. Everyday we live is by grace. When I look at how I went to school, primary, secondary, university and other institutions that I have attended, I see the Hands of the Lord in every phase of my movement up. And I thank the Lord because I’m not even qualified in any way but he qualified me and that is why I want to live the rest of my life serving Him, honouring Him and doing the needful for the people.
“I’m committed to the working of an orphanage and as you can see, the orphanage people came today. I’m committed to seeing them through education, in terms of difficulty in health by giving them medical support and all that. So, I want to say there is another realm looking at what God can do and I’m happy that all these are going on simultaneously as one is retiring and it gives me an unending joy and happiness. I sincerely appreciate God.
For those who are still in active service, he advised them to remain focused and have the belief that God will see them through.
“Be focused, times are really difficult but it is not all that runneth that winneth but it is God gives mercy. Put your hands in God’s Hands, let Him pull you through and you will know that He is the Only One who can help a man. If it’s by the knowledge of individuals, someone like me will not have anything to offer. But I thank God for God who is the Alpha and also the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I know in relating with one another we may have stray away believing in what the politicians want us to believe.
” Whether you are a Muslim, a Christian or a pagan, you are a human being first. Your belief system should not make me to have any resentment towards you.
“To this end, I’m looking at creating a new Nigeria that works not for the ethnic divide, but a new Nigeria that we can all be proud of that can correct every wrong and bring prosperity to us all. It is from this point of view that I want to call on those in position of authority to use it to the glory of God and serve humanity. Without sounding immodest, I have touch some lives and I’m proud that they are doing well in their own little ways and that is what I will continue to do for the rest of my life,” he concluded.
