Chairperson, Board of Governors (BoG) of Anwar-Ul Islam Girls High School, Ojokoro,Lagos, Alhaja F.B. Akanni, has urged graduating students of the institution not to jettison the lessons impacted on them while in the school.
Alhaja F.B. Akanni who is also the Director of Legal Services, Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation, said this on Thursday, 21st August, 2025, in her speech at the school’s 2025 Graduation and Prize/Award Giving Ceremony.
According to her, “You are stepping into a wider world where your faith, values, and knowledge will be tested. Always remember the motto of our school: “Dedication towards Success.” Let that thought guide your actions, your choices, and your path. Hold fast to your identity as Muslim girls; strong, intelligent, principled, and compassionate.”
The BoG Chairperson also commended the teachers, other staff and parents of the students on their roles in the lives of the graduating students.
She said “To our teachers and staff, we salute your hard work, your sacrifices, and your commitment to shaping future leaders. The success of our students is a reflection of your dedication.
“To the parents, thank you for entrusting your daughters to our care. Your prayers, patience, and partnership have made today possible.”
She added that “As Chairperson of the Board of Governors, I assure you that we are committed to rejuvenating the spirit and standard of this school. We seek your continued support as we work to restore and surpass the glorious heights this institution once enjoyed.
“Let me end with a dua: “May Allah (SWT) increase our children in knowledge, protect them from harm, and make them a source of pride for their families, the Ummah, and humanity at large. Ameen.”
“Once again, congratulations to all our prize winners and graduates. Go forth and shine!”
