Hajj: Niger State Pilgrims Board ES urges speedy issuance of passport to intending pilgrims

An appeal has gone to the Niger State immigration  service to speed up the processing and issuance of passport to the intending Pilgrims in the state.

The appeal was made by the Executive Secretary of the Pilgrims Welfare board, Alhaji Umar Makun Lapai when he and the management Staff paid a courtesy call to the immigration Controller, Mr Nongo Samuel Shims in his office in Minna.

Alhaji Umar Makun Lapai explained that due to the numerical strength of the intending Pilgrims from the state, the board need a special consideration from the immigration service to urgently begin the processing of their passport in order to meet the deadline.The Executive Secretary however commended the immigration service for the cordial existing relationship between the board and the immigration service adding that the tempo should be maintained.

In his remarks, the Immigration Controller,Mr Bongo Samuel assured the State Pilgrims Welfare board that the service would do all in its power to speed up issuance of passport to the intending Pilgrims.
 Mr Nongo Samuel stated that their headquarters in Abuja would be notified immediately to give special consideration to the intending Pilgrims from the state on the issuance of their passport in order meet the hajj deadline.The Immigration Controller Stressed the importance of hajj operation pointing out that the intending Pilgrims should pray for the wellbeing of the country while in the holy land.Mr Nongo Samuel promised to maintain the  existing cordial relay between the immigration Service and the state Pilgrims Welfare board.
