FUNAAB Pro-Chancellor Pays Royal Visits to Olu of Ilaro, Olowu of Owu Kingdom

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, Asoludero , on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, paid royal visits to two foremost traditional rulers in Ogun State as part of efforts to further strengthen the cordial relationship between the University and the kingdoms.

The visits took the Pro-Chancellor to the palaces of HRM Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, Asade Agunloye IV, the Olu of Ilaro and HRM Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola, Oluyalo Otileta VII, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom. During the engagements, Oba Olabomi held discussions with the revered monarchs on community development, educational advancement, and the vital role of traditional institutions in promoting peace, progress, and sustainable growth.

The visits reflected FUNAAB’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with traditional institutions, recognising their strategic role in advancing education, community development, and social cohesion. They also provided an avenue to deepen existing relationships and explore areas of mutual interest that would support the continued growth of the University and its neighbouring communities.

The monarchs commended FUNAAB’s contributions to teaching, research, and community service, while reaffirming their goodwill and support for the University’s aspirations and strategic objectives.

The Pro-Chancellor was accompanied on the visits by the Global President of the FUNAAB Alumni Association, Otunba Bolaji Gbadamosi; the Chief of Staff to Aragbiji-in-Council, Hon. Olayide Oladiti and the Ag. Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Mr. Olasunkanmi Olajide.

Meanwhile, the Pro-Chancellor also carried out an on-the-spot assessment of the ongoing rehabilitation of the University’s swimming pool facility on campus, immediately after the Royal Visits.
