The ENACTUS FUTA Team has emerged one of the winners of the Action with Africa Challenge. The competition was opened to all ENACTUS Teams around the world working on an ENACTUS projects within the continent of Africa. The FUTA Team project emerged 12th of top 24 projects from participants around the world.
The Team won Five Thousand Euros (€5,000) SEED Grant for its “Project Banner” at the recently concluded Action with Africa Challenge sponsored by Action with Africa Program (AWA) which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation (BMZ) and Development and Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
Project Banner involves the recycling of used banners made of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) into bags at an almost cost-free price for students that cannot afford the conventional school bags. This project also supports climate action by preventing environmental hazards and keeping a sustainable environment.
Miss Boluwatife Olowolaju, the Team Lead said the AWA Challenge was aimed at positively impacting and funding series of projects to empower ENACTUS students globally in the provision of solutions to challenges ,drive impact in the society and meeting sustainable Development Goals.
The achievement of the grant by the over 40-member team creates the opportunity for the ENACTUS Team to access €5,000 in project funding to help create initiatives and sustain positive sustainable Development Goals impact on the continent of Africa.
The Vice Chancellor ,Professor Adenike Oladiji, has congratulated members of Team ENACTUS FUTA describing them as worthy ambassadors of the Institution.
