Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has delivered four vehicles to Chief Imam of Ilorin and the council of Ulamah of Ilorin Emirate.
Among the four vehicles, a brand new Toyota Prado jeep was delivered to the Chief Imam Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani, a bus for the council of Ulama, one jeep for Imam Imale Shaykh Abdullahi AbdulHameed and another one for Imam Gambari Shaykh AbdulAzeez Sulaiman.
The presentation was made at the palace of the Emir of Ilorin Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Emir of Ilorin thanked AbdulRazaq for fulfilling his promise to the Chief Imam and for supporting religious institution in the state.
He prayed for continuous guidance and wisdom in piloting the affairs of the state.
While handing over the keys, AbdulRazaq explained that the presentation was in support of the Emir of Ilorin, in support of the Emirate Council, in demonstration of his love for sustenance of the partnership between him and the Government of the State, and the Royalty, and the Emirate Council, the Council of Ulamah.
“To the glory of Almighty Allah, Alhamdulillah. We are here on behalf of His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State. True to his title as Sardauna of Ilorin, you will recall that the entire people of the Emirate, and Kwara State in particular, were excited with the appointment of the new Chief Imam recently, and the turbaning that attracted people from all over part of the country,” the governor said at the brief but colourful presentation.
AbdulRazaq spoke through his Senior Adviser and Counselor Alhaji Saadu Salau. He was accompanied by former Special Adviser on Special Duties Alhaji Abdulrazaq Jiddah; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Religion Alhaji Ibrahim Danmaigoro; Dr Ibrahim Ghali Alaaya; Chairman Ilorin West Local Government AbdulRahman Ladan and the General Manager of KWASSIP Dr Wasiu Tejidini
“What is happening today is practical fulfilment of that promise, in terms of a Toyota SUV GX, brand new, delivered to the Chief Imam.
But in addition to that, the Governor has also extended his gesture to the Council of Ulamah, in the Emirate, and in the State, by giving them a bus, and he has also included in a hierarchy, thei Imam Imale, and the Imam Gambari. So, in other words, we are here to present four official vehicles, which of course, was received by no other person, than our Royal Father, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.
“So, the entire people of Ilorin Emirate, and Kwara State in particular, are delighted on the official presentation of four official vehicles, not only for the Chief Imam of Ilorin, but also for the Imam Imale; Imam Gambari, and Council of Ulamah,” the governor said.
Responding, the Chief Imam of Ilorin Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani appreciated AbdulRazaq for the gesture, saying it will ease transportation challenges of the religious leaders.
“I give thanks to Almighty Allah and I am very grateful to our amiable Governor. May Almighty Allah in His infinite mercy continue to protect and guide him from all evils. We really appreciate what he did for us.
“The bus will assist the Ulamah to move together easily anytime we have an occasion,” Chief Imam added.
The Governor had also procured and presented vehicles to Kwara CAN last week.
