Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Wednesday, inaugurated Chairmen and members of 12 Boards of Agencies of the State Government with a call on them to always put the interest of the state first in all that they do.
Governor Oborevwori charged the new appointees and other political office holders in the state to shun prejudice in all its ramifications by working for all Deltans regardless of ethnic, religious, or political affiliation.
He noted that the collective strength of Delta as a state was in the diversity of its people, adding that political appointees must strive to strengthen the bond of unity in their actions and utterances so as to inspire hope and confidence among Deltans.
Governor Oborevwori said: “Let us put Delta State first in all that we do. And that requires that we shun prejudice and work for all Deltans regardless of ethnic, religious, or political affiliation.”
“I have always maintained that our strength as a state is in our diversity. Hence, you must strive to strengthen that bond in your actions and utterances and, thereby, inspire hope and confidence in our people.”
“You must muster the resolve and political will to do what is right at all times so that we can lay a solid foundation of continuous growth and prosperity for now and future generations of Deltans”.
While saying that he has no doubt that the political appointees would justify the confidence that has been reposed in them with their appointment, Governor Oborevwori disclosed that his administration was in a hurry to get things done.
“So, I expect you to hit the ground running and urge you to be guided by the core values of the MORE Agenda”, he said.
Responding on behalf of the Chairmen and members of the inaugurated Boards, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Warri, Chief Moses Odibo, thanked the Governor for considering them worthy to serve in his government, assuring him that they shall hit the ground running in pursuit of his administration’s M.O.R.E. Agenda for Deltans.
