An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ogbomoso Judicial Division has upturned the appointment of Ghandi Olaoye as new Soun of Ogbomoso.

The Oyo State Government announced Ghandi Olaoye as Soun of Ogbomoso and subsequently crowned him King in September 2023.

Before this time, another contender for the throne, Prince Muhammed Kabir Olaoye, sued Ghandi, Governor Seyi Makinde and Attorney-General of Oyo State, barring them from crowning any one as King pending the final determination of the suit.

The court gave an order restraining Pastor Afolabi Ghandi Oladunni Olaoye from parading, representing or presenting himself as the candidate for any ceremony, also restrained the Oyo Govt from presenting any instruments of office to the former RCCG Pastor.
