Borno South Stakeholders Forum Set to Honour Distinguished Sons and Daughters at Award and Dinner Night

The Borno South Stakeholders Forum, a dynamic platform created to serve and promote the collective interests of the people of Southern Borno—comprising Askira/Uba, Chibok, Damboa, Bayo, Biu, Gwoza, Hawul, Kwaya Kusar, and Shani Local Government Areas—is set to host an Award and Dinner Night in celebration of excellence, unity, and service. The highly anticipated event will take place on Wednesday, 9th April 2025, at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

A statement by the Forum said “In recognition of the significance of this gathering, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has graciously directed the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON to represent him at the event.”

The Borno South Stakeholders Forum was initiated and convened by Mal. Ishaya Usman Malgwi, CNA, who also serves as the Director General of the Forum. The forum stands as a unifying force, working to highlight and preserve the rich culture, traditions, and socioeconomic aspirations of the people of Borno South.

One of the major highlights of the event will be the conferment of awards on some of the region’s most illustrious sons and daughters, including Lt. Gen. T.Y. Buratai (Rtd.), former Chief of Army Staff, whose distinguished service to the nation remains a source of pride and inspiration, and Barr. Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Media and Policy Communications to Mr. President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Aims and Objectives of the Forum:

1. To promote the culture, traditions, and socioeconomic values of the people of Borno South.

2. To foster unity and development within the Borno South community.

3. To advance human capital development through education, training, and skill acquisition programs, particularly targeting vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, while advocating for increased governmental support.

The Award and Dinner Night promises to be a memorable occasion bringing together key stakeholders, community leaders, government officials, and development partners, all committed to the continued growth and prosperity of Southern Borno.
