Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has called on residents to remain calm and exercise restraint over the Federal Government’s proposed ranching policy in Benue and other states.
In a statement on Sunday through his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Alia said his mandate is from the people and Benue’s interest remains his foremost priority.
“Governor Hyacinth Alia is fully engaged on the matter and is in consultation with the people and relevant authorities,” Kula said.
He cautioned against rushing to politicise the issue by taking it to streets, churches, media or marketplaces, saying the governor has never taken a position against Benue’s interest.
“It is not every issue that requires an immediate public pronouncement. Sometimes, measured deliberation produces better outcomes,” the statement added, assuring that Alia will approach it with careful consideration and strategic judgement.
