Anchor and aspirant for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, House of Reps, Dr. Chiogo Constance Ikokwu (Ugonecheora) has moved from the African Democratic Congress (ADC )to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a statement titled, “A Strategic Realignment for Purposeful Service,” Ikokwu said the last few days have been hectic, especially in light of the limited time remaining for party primaries across the country.
She went on to say that it was a hard decision, seeing that she comes from Anambra, where recent realignments will be heavily felt.
According to her: “I had to make a quick and tough decision to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) after careful reflection. With the level of uncertainty, shifting alliances, and ongoing realignments across the political space, it is important to find a platform that is stable, forward-looking, and aligned with the vision for meaningful engagement. As part of these broader movements, key elements of the coalition I identify with, found a home within the NDC, making this transition both timely and necessary.”
She continued: “Ultimately, my focus remains clear: to reach the destination where I can effectively serve the people. This move is about positioning, ensuring that I am on a platform that offers the right atmosphere, strength, and opportunity needed to translate commitment into tangible service and impact for my constituency.”
Dr. Ikokwu says she remains committed to the ideals of accountable leadership, people-centered governance, and progress. She also asked for the understanding and continued support of all who share in this vision, as progressives move forward together with renewed purpose and determination.
She ended with her mantra – Politics for Public Good. Take Back Your Government.
