In a significant display of unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Amb. Sarafa Tunji Isola has assured Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (popularly known as Yayi) of total support for his 2027 governorship election.

The former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Baba Adinni of Ogun State (as well as Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States) gave the assurance on Friday, during a consultative and interactive session held after Jumu’ah prayers at the Central Mosque in Abeokuta with the Egba Muslim Community, led by the Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheikh Mohammed Sa’ad Alade Bamgbola.

Senator Adeola, accompanied by his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Temitope Adeola, and a high-powered delegation including Alhaja Salmot Badru (former Deputy Governor of Ogun State and Iya Adinni of Ogun State), Hon. Gboyega Nosiru Isiaka (GNI, Seriki Adinni of Yewaland), Senator Lekan Mustapha, Hon. Kayode Oladele, and others, received a warm reception from top Egba Muslim leaders.

Speaking at the well-attended meeting, Amb Isola, a prominent Egba leader described himself as a committed party man who would not abandon the APC, the platform that elevated him to the position of High Commissioner.

He acknowledged that although
he was not initially carried along in the process that produced Senator Adeola as the APC consensus governorship candidate, he has since fully embraced him following sincere overtures.

“I have handed over to Senator Adeola my blueprint for the development of Ogun State and my manifesto, in addition to collapsing my political structure to work for him,” Isola stated. “You have my full support. I cannot abandon the APC at this point in time.”

He further revealed that he had already informed Imams, Alfas, and the leadership of the Egba Muslim Community to support “Yayi,” the APC consensus candidate.

This endorsement aligns with earlier moves by Isola, who previously collapsed structures from 24 support groups in favor of Adeola and handed over a detailed 64-page socio-economic blueprint, underscoring themes of party loyalty, the Yewa Agenda, and smooth political transitions in Ogun State.

The development is seen as a boost to APC unity ahead of the 2027 polls, reinforcing Adeola’s position as the party’s standard-bearer following his emergence as consensus candidate.

Ambassador Isola’s backing highlights his reputation as a bridge-builder and advocate for peace and continuity in Ogun politics.

The consultative session yielded fruitful outcomes, with Senator Adeola reiterating his pledge for inclusive governance across all sectors.
