A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, has declared that the party’s 2027 electoral campaign is about securing the future of Ogun State and Nigeria, as the APC leadership in Abeokuta North Local Government Area endorsed President Bola Tinubu and other candidates of the party.

Isola spoke at a high-powered stakeholders’ meeting held at Ori-Omi, Sokori, Abeokuta North, where ward and local government executives, party leaders and stakeholders from the four zones of Owu, Gbagura, Oke-Ona and Oke-Ogun rallied support for the APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting endorsed President Tinubu for re-election, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for the Ogun West senatorial seat, Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu for Ogun Central Senatorial District, Hon. Olumide Osoba for the Obafemi-Owode/Abeokuta North/Odeda Federal Constituency and Hon. Babatunde Tela for the Ogun State House of Assembly.

The gathering, described by participants as a show of political strength and unity, was led by Isola, Hon. Adekunle Adesina and High Chief Ajao Bakai Okedara.

Speaking on behalf of the party leaders, Isola emphasised continuity, experience and effective representation, saying the choices before APC members in 2027 would have implications for the future development of Ogun State.
“We are not just endorsing candidates; we are endorsing the future of Ogun State and Nigeria,” Isola said.

He said Yayi possessed the political influence and experience required to attract federal dividends to Ogun, while Salisu had demonstrated the capacity to provide effective legislative representation.
Isola also expressed confidence that the continued leadership of President Tinubu would enable the country to consolidate ongoing reforms and development initiatives.
“With President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the helm, we are confident that our collective aspirations will be met. Abeokuta North is solidly behind this team,” he said.

He urged party members to remain united and mobilise effectively at the grassroots, stressing that the APC must translate its political strength into electoral victory across the state.

Also speaking, High Chief Ajao Bakai Okedara said the participation of stakeholders from Owu, Gbagura, Oke-Ona and Oke-Ogun demonstrated that the APC in Abeokuta North was united ahead of the elections.

Okedara urged party members to support Osoba and Tela, saying their grassroots connection and experience would strengthen representation at the federal and state levels.
“The presence of all four zones—Owu, Gbagura, Oke-Ona, and Oke-Ogun—here today sends a clear message: Abeokuta North is united,” he said.

The APC Chairman in Abeokuta North, his deputy, Alhaja Faidat Akintunde Sarumi, Alhaji Saba and other members of the local government structure reaffirmed their commitment to mobilising voters for the party’s candidates.

Other prominent leaders who attended the meeting and supported the endorsement included Commissioner Oludotun Taiwo, Alhaji Habeeb Ajayi, Chief Bode Mustapha, Hon. Ifekayode Akinbode, Engr. Tajudeen Isola, Hon. Bolaji Oyesile, Alaga Mesan, Hon. Femi Adiro and Alhaji Adesanya, among others.
The stakeholders said the combination of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the legislative experience of Yayi and Salisu, and the grassroots reach of Osoba and Tela would provide the APC with a strong platform for the 2027 elections.

The meeting ended with a vote of confidence in the party’s leadership and a resolution to intensify ward-level mobilisation to secure victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
