A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja on Friday ordered former Minister of Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige, to be remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre following his arraignment by the EFCC on alleged ₦2.2 billion corruption charges.
Ngige, who entered a not-guilty plea to the eight-count charge, was brought before Justice Mariam Hassan on Friday.
The judge directed that he remain in custody until the hearing of his bail application scheduled for Monday, 15 December 2025.
The case will proceed after the court rules on the bail request.
