Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko, a prominent politician from Bauchi State and Chairman of the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority (UBRBDA) has appealed to Hajiya Naja’atu Bala Muhammad to stop distracting President Bola Tinubu and National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
Naja’atu Muhammad, founder of the Northern Star Youth Initiative, recently took to the social media, criticising the the NSA and the Tinubu administration.
Alhaji Takko is of the view that this is distracting and asked
Naja’atu Muhammad to put an end to this.
The UBRBDA Chairman in a press statement said
“President Tinubu’s administration has made significant strides in improving infrastructure, human capital development, and security architecture, bringing tangible dividends of democracy to Nigerians. NSA Nuhu Ribadu has been instrumental in enhancing security across the country, particularly in regions facing security challenges.”
He added that “NSA Nuhu Ribadu has made significant strides in enhancing Nigeria’s security architecture. His tenure has been marked by improved collaboration among security agencies, intelligence-driven strategies, and proactive measures to combat terrorism, insurgency, and organized crime.
” Under his guidance, the Nigerian military has recorded notable successes in dealing with security challenges across the country. Ribadu’s emphasis on community-based intelligence and technology has further strengthened Nigeria’s fight against insecurity. His exceptional leadership has earned him recognition, and his efforts have been attributed to the successes achieved in 2024. Looking ahead, Ribadu has assured Nigerians of enhanced security in 2025.
While Nigeria operates under a constitutional democracy that guarantees freedom of expression, it is essential to exercise this right with decorum and decency. The constant criticism of President Tinubu’s government and NSA Nuhu Ribadu’s efforts by Naja’atu Muhammad is uncivil and unproductive.”
Alhaji Takko stressed that
“Rather than distracting President Tinubu and NSA Nuhu Ribadu, Naja’atu Muhammad and her associates should allow them to focus on achieving their vision for a prosperous and indivisible Nigeria. If they have grievances, they should await the 2027 general elections to test their popularity.”
He also urged President Tinubu and NSA Nuhu Ribadu to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence, drawing inspiration from Napoleon Hill’s words that “Victory belongs to the most persevering.” They should also heed Prof. Chinua Achebe’s wisdom that “Whenever the wooden insects carry sticks, it is on their own heads they will put it,” reminding them that malicious intentions will ultimately harm their originators.
Reiterating his stance, the Barayan Bauchi said: “Since assuming the Presidency 18 months ago, the Tinubu/Shettima administration has made notable progress in various areas. In terms of infrastructure development, the administration has achieved significant milestones, across all board, reforming the security doctrine and architecture, investing more in security personnel, and providing better training, equipment, and conducive environment, so equally the economic reforms are yielding fruitful results which every discerning mind knows!
“Let Naja’atu and her co-travellers know that we have no other country than Nigeria, therefore it’s our collective duties and responsibilities to render helping hands in driving the holistic renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu in taking Nigeria to the eldorado.”
