Al-Ma’ali International Academy Seeks Affiliation with Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies

Al-Ma’ali International Academy, a renowned institution located at Haza Close, Kinkinau, Kaduna, has initiated efforts to affiliate with the Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Kano, as part of its strategic preparation for the launch of its diploma programs in January 2025.

The proposed diploma programs include Quran Studies and Qira’aat, Hadith Sciences, Shari’ah (Fiqh and Usool Al-Fiqh), Islamic Studies and Education, and Arabic Language and Education. This affiliation aims to strengthen the academic rigor and recognition of these programs, ensuring students receive top-tier education grounded in Islamic scholarship.

A distinguished delegation from Al-Ma’ali International Academy visited the college on November 21, 2024, to discuss the prospects of affiliation and collaboration. The delegation included:

*Dr. Nasir Yahya Abubakar, Director of Al-Ma’ali International Academy,

*Ustadh Muhammad Auwal Ahmad, Secretary

*Ustadh Muhammad Awwal Harun, Coordinator of Educational Activities for both the Academy and Al-Ma’ali International Relief Foundation,

*Ustadh Abubakar Harun Bn Baaz and Ustadh Kamal Ololade Ahmed, members of the academic planning team and consultants for the diploma programs.

The meeting began with a formal introduction, followed by a presentation from Dr. Nasir Yahya Abubakar, highlighting the Academy’s vision and its commitment to advancing Islamic education. The Secretary of the Academy also gave an overview of the activities of the Al-Ma’ali International Relief Foundation and the Academy’s establishment in 2018, emphasizing its remarkable achievements over the years.

The Provost of the Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Prof. Balarabe Abubakar Jakada (Maijidadi Kauran Katsina), expressed his optimism about the affiliation, praising the Academy’s efforts to uphold the values of Islamic education. He assured the delegation of the college’s support in fostering a meaningful partnership. Also at the meeting we’re the College Registrar, Bursar, Director of Affiliation and Linkages and other principal officers.

The launch of the diploma programs will follow the Haflah (graduation ceremony) scheduled for December 29, 2024, to honor the exceptional achievements of 30 students who have completed their Quran studies at the Academy. These students are categorized as follows:

1. Those who have mastered the ten Qira’aat (styles of recitation) and memorized important texts in Islamic sciences.

2. Those who have mastered the seven Qira’aat and memorized key Islamic texts.

3. Those who have memorized the entire Quran with proficiency in one or more styles of recitation.

This affiliation and the upcoming diploma programs reflect Al-Ma’ali International Academy’s commitment to excellence in Islamic education, ensuring its students are well-equipped with profound knowledge and skills to contribute positively to society.
