The Management of Adeyemi College of Education Ondo, has entered into partnership with a Chinese Company-Chong Fi Limited, for the construction of a world class guest house and International Conference center in the Institution.
Speaking during the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at an occasion held at the old Governing Council Chambers in the college on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, the Acting Provost, Dr. Ajigbade Ikuejube, described the exercise as welcome development, adding that the efforts would bring more benefits to the institution especially in the area of infrastructural development.
Responding, representative of Chong Fi Limited, Mr. Temidayo Oluwafunshe, appreciated the College management for agreeing to partner with their company, adding that, the partnership would bring mutual benefits and development to the College.
Meanwhile, in the document containing the MoU, Chong Fi Limited listed areas where it intends to promote specific objectives in the college to include construction of forty (40) rooms guest house with fence and in-house security installation, construction of a world class International conference center with one thousand, two hundred (1200) seating capacity which when fully completed would serve as avenue for hosting conferences that would be organized within and outside the college, stating that, the development would bring the institution to global recognition.
Other areas the organisation intend to add values to the institution includes payment of annual ground rents to the college for the period of five years at first instance, returning ownership of the property to the college after the duration of 38 years , as well as engaging in other Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR).
The climax of the brief ceremony was the signing of the MoU by the Acting Provost of the College, Dr. Ajigbade Ikuejube; Registrar of the College, Mrs Olufisayo Fakorede in the presence of Deputy, Registrar Legal Unit, Mr. R.O Akinkuoye.
Similarly, Mr. Temidayo Oluwafunshe, Mr. Imraina Moshood who are representatives of the company also signed the MoU in the presence of the organisation Legal Officer Barrister Ikuemonisam Israel.
Important personalities who attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing of the MoU include the Bursar, Mr. Ganiyu Abdul; the Librarian, Mr. Azino Akpokuriere and Director of Physical Planning & works services, Mr. Francis Ajayi .
Also present were Barrister (Mrs.) Adeduro Abimbola from Legal Unit; Director, Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Oluseto Olatuyi; Assistant Deputy Registrar, Provost Office, Mrs. Olabimpe Olabode and staff from the College Directorate of Information and Public Relations.
