The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), on Monday commenced a statewide series of stakeholders’ town hall meetings in Ewekoro Local Government Area, assuring residents that critical road and health challenges in the council would be addressed in the coming months.

Addressing a gathering of traditional rulers, community development leaders, artisans, market women, youths and other stakeholders in Itori, Adeola said the forum was designed to obtain feedback on his representation as senator for Ogun West, interact directly with grassroots communities and seek their support for his 2027 governorship bid.
“You are not only the electorate; you are equally important stakeholders. I am standing before you today to assure you that my administration will deliver the dividends of democracy to Ewekoro if I am given the mandate to govern the state next year,” he stated. “As a senator representing Ogun West, I have already set a standard by facilitating various projects to this local government. I promise that if I emerge governor in 2027, I will work for the socio-economic development of this important council.”
Adeola disclosed that he had facilitated and completed more than 900 infrastructure projects across Ogun State, including roads, school buildings, ICT centres, health facilities, markets, police stations and solar street lights. In Ewekoro specifically, he listed completed interventions such as the ultra-modern market at Obada-Oko, rehabilitation of the Papalanto-Oteyi Road, renovation of Obada-Oko Primary Health Centre, and solar borehole and solar lights at Obada Market. Ongoing projects include the Iyana Complex Junction road, Obada Central Community road, Wasimi ultra-modern market, blocks of classrooms at Government Technical College Ajegunle and Itori Comprehensive High School, and a mini-grid at Obada-Oko General Hospital.
He acknowledged lingering challenges on Old Ilaro Road, Ejio Road, Afowowa-Sogade Road, Pateleri Road and the need for a health centre at Abalabi, assuring residents that these would be prioritised under his administration.
The senator urged the gathering to vote massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates, including Senator Shuaib Salisu (Ogun Central), Adijat Adeleye (Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency) and Biodun Adeleye (Ewekoro State Constituency). He noted that a solid foundation had been laid for the Renewed Hope Agenda over the past three and a half years, citing key national gains such as the decline in inflation from 34.8 per cent in 2024 to 14.6 per cent in September 2026, reduction of the debt service-to-revenue ratio from 97 per cent to below 50 per cent, external reserves rising to $58.8 billion, clearance of a $7 billion forex backlog, payment of a N750 billion pension backlog, and the NELFUND scheme that has supported over 1.5 million students with N300 billion.
Adeola also highlighted Ogun State’s benefits under the federal administration, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Badagry-Sokoto Super Highway, reconstruction of the Sagamu-Benin Expressway and the South-West regional headquarters of the National Food Bank. He commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for completing over 1,700 kilometres of roads, 3,640 housing units, the Gateway International Cargo Airport at Iperu, and securing a $7 billion MoU for the Gateway Deep Sea Port.
Giving his Senate scorecard, Adeola said that as Chairman of the Appropriations Committee and Vice Chairman of the National Security and Intelligence Committee, he had sponsored 15 bills and four motions. His bill upgrading Federal Polytechnic Ilaro to the University of Technology, Ilaro, has been signed into law, while his ICAN Act amendment bill has passed public hearing. He added that his scholarship and bursary scheme has supported about 10,000 students, while over 20,000 market men and women across the state, including beneficiaries from Ewekoro, have received cash grants.
Adeola pledged to continue effective representation until 29 May 2027 and to faithfully implement his nine-pillar ITESIWAJU Agenda if elected.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Ogun APC Campaign Council, Senator Lekan Mustapha, said the meeting was organised to enable the governorship candidate to engage directly with the electorate and key stakeholders. Ewekoro Local Government Chairman Sikiru Adesina welcomed the candidate, describing the decision to begin the statewide tour in Ewekoro as a demonstration of Adeola’s commitment to the people.
Among those present were Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Ogun APC Chairman Chief Yemi Sanusi, Deputy Governorship candidate Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun, Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, House of Representatives Deputy Whip Hon. Isiaka Adekunle, and traditional rulers including the Olu of Itori, Oba Abdulfatai Akorode Akamo.
After the Ewekoro meeting, Adeola’s entourage proceeded to Ifo Local Government for a similar stakeholders’ engagement.
