The Muslim Community of Lagos State (MCLS) has congratulated six newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in the state, urging them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, accountability and dedication to public service.
The Community particularly congratulated the three Muslim appointees: Dr. Olawale Mahadiyu Adegbite; Mr. Adebayo Mubashiru Haroun; and Mrs. Bilquees Toyin Adekoya, Principal/Director of Education, Education District VI.
In a statement signed by its President, Hon. Mohammed Oyinlomo Danmole, and Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Jubril Folami, the MCLS described the appointments by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as a call to greater responsibility and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of Lagos State.
While congratulating all six appointees, the Community urged them to see their new positions not merely as professional achievements but as a sacred trust requiring diligence, fairness, humility and an unwavering commitment to the public good.
It particularly charged the Muslim appointees to allow the fear of Allah to guide their conduct and decisions, reminding them that public office is an Amanah (trust) for which they would ultimately be accountable before Almighty Allah.
The Community urged them to uphold the Islamic principles of justice, honesty, compassion, transparency and accountability in their dealings with colleagues and members of the public.
Citing Qur’an 4:58, the MCLS noted that Allah commands believers to discharge trusts faithfully and judge between people with justice.
It said the injunction was a reminder that leadership must be exercised with integrity and that the privileges of public office must be matched by a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people.
The Community also called on the appointees to deploy their experience, expertise and administrative skills to improve efficiency in the public service, support policies that enhance the lives of residents and ensure fairness in the delivery of government services.
It stressed that the Permanent Secretaries must treat all citizens equally, irrespective of their religious beliefs, ethnic backgrounds or social status.
The MCLS further urged the six appointees to foster cooperation with their colleagues and other public officials, uphold the highest standards of professionalism and contribute to improved governance and service delivery across the state.
The Community expressed confidence that the appointees could make meaningful contributions to Lagos State’s development by demonstrating exemplary leadership and a strong sense of responsibility.
It also appreciated Governor Sanwo-Olu for the appointments, expressing the hope that the new Permanent Secretaries would justify the confidence reposed in them through dedicated service and measurable contributions to the state’s progress.
The MCLS prayed that Almighty Allah would grant the appointees wisdom, sound judgment, strength and sincerity of purpose to carry out their duties effectively.
It further prayed that their tenure would bring progress to Lagos State and lasting benefits to its residents.
