Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun; the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI; former governor of the state and APC national leader, Aremo Olusegun Osoba; and former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, were among prominent dignitaries who attended the 8th Day Fidau Prayer for the late Alhaja A.A. Mustapha, mother of the Osi of Egbaland, High Chief Bode Mustapha.

The Islamic prayer, held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, brought together political leaders, traditional title holders, government officials, community leaders, family members and associates of the deceased to honour her memory and offer prayers for the repose of her soul.
Senator Adeola, who attended the Fidau with his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Temitope Adeola, joined other dignitaries in commiserating with High Chief Bode Mustapha and members of his family over the loss.
Also present was Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, who serves as Assistant Grand Patron of the Ogun APC Campaign Council, alongside Prince Segun Adesegun, a former Deputy Governor of Ogun State.
The gathering provided an opportunity for the dignitaries to identify with the family at a significant moment of mourning and remembrance, while observing the Islamic tradition of offering prayers for the deceased.
The late Alhaja A.A. Mustapha was remembered by family members, friends and associates for her role as a mother and matriarch whose death had brought together people from different walks of life to commiserate with the family.
The Fidau prayer was led in accordance with Islamic rites, with prayers offered for the forgiveness of the deceased’s shortcomings and for Allah to grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus.
Participants also prayed for strength, comfort and guidance for the family, particularly High Chief Bode Mustapha, during the period of bereavement.
The attendance of Governor Abiodun, YAYI, Osoba, Isola, Adesegun and other prominent figures underscored the wide circle of relationships surrounding the family and the significance attached to the late matriarch’s memory.
High Chief Bode Mustapha, a prominent traditional and political figure in Ogun State, is the Osi of Egbaland and a former member of the House of Representatives.
The gathering ended with continued prayers and expressions of condolences to the Mustapha family, as dignitaries and sympathisers departed after observing the religious rites.
