Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola-YAYI, are set to receive members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who are expected to defect to the ruling party at a political rally in Ilaro on Sunday.
The event, scheduled for September 20, 2026, will take place at Empire Field, Ilaro, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The reception is being jointly hosted by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, and the APC governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, YAYI, CON, FCA.
The organisers said the event would formally welcome the defecting PDP members into the APC, describing the occasion as an opportunity to receive the new members into the party.
The reception was announced by Hon. Babatunde Olaotan (HBO), Special Adviser to the Governor on Government House and General Services and Chairman of the Contacts and Mobilisation Committee of the 2027 Ogun State APC Campaign Council.
The development comes as political parties in Ogun State intensify mobilisation and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The APC has been expanding its political structures and mobilisation activities across the state as preparations for the election gather momentum.
The organisers called on party members, supporters and invited guests to attend the Ilaro reception, stressing that their presence would be appreciated as the APC welcomes the new members into what it described as the “progressive family.”
