The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to building lasting partnerships across Nigeria, with its Public Diplomacy team engaging stakeholders in Kaduna and Zaria on key issues affecting communities.
The delegation, led by Public Diplomacy Officer Raisa Dukas, visited the two cities to connect with local stakeholders and assess the impact of various U.S.-supported programmes on the ground.
During the engagements, the team held discussions with stakeholders on religious freedom, governance, media freedom, security and cultural preservation.
The U.S. mission said the conversations provided an opportunity to gain deeper insight into local perspectives while identifying areas for stronger collaboration.
A key part of the visit was the team’s engagement at the Window on America at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where the delegation witnessed the impact of U.S. programmes in promoting innovation and opportunities for shared economic prosperity.
The U.S. mission said the engagements had opened new avenues for collaboration in education, technology, alumni networks, peacebuilding and commercial diplomacy.
“The United States is committed to building lasting partnerships across Nigeria,” the mission said, stressing the importance of sustained engagement with local communities and institutions.
The visit underscores Washington’s efforts to strengthen people-to-people ties and expand cooperation with Nigerian stakeholders beyond traditional diplomatic channels.
