Lagos kits Neighbourhood Safety Officers with anti-riot equipment, bullet-proof vests

The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) has deployed newly acquired anti-riot equipment and bullet-proof vests to its corps officers as part of efforts to strengthen security operations and improve officer safety across the state.

The agency said the move is aimed at enhancing the operational capacity of the agency and equipping officers to better protect residents and visitors in Lagos State.

Presenting the equipment, Ayodele Ogunsan, Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the safety and well-being of residents.

Ogunsan stated that the continued support of the LSSTF through the provision of operational tools to security agencies, especially the LNSA, was in line with the government’s vision of maintaining peace and security in Lagos.

The General Manager of the LNSA, Ifalade Oyekan, commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for what he described as a pragmatic approach to security and peaceful coexistence in the state.

He also praised the management of the LSSTF for supporting the governor’s vision of a safer Lagos through strategic investment in security infrastructure and personnel welfare.

Oyekan urged officers to properly handle and maintain the newly acquired equipment, stressing that the items were procured with taxpayers’ money and must not be misused or damaged through negligence.

He warned that any officer found culpable of misuse would face strict disciplinary action.

The LNSA boss further reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, assuring residents that officers would continue to carry out their duties professionally in line with the agency’s mandate.
