Grumbling in Oyo APC over alleged hijack of Renewed  Hope Agenda Ambassadors by aspirants

The fragile unity and reconciliation presumably achieved by the Oyo State chapter of All Progressives Congress Party (APC), through the statewide rallies held recently and championed by the Renewed  Hope Agenda Ambassadors, under the command of  Sen. Teslim Folarin, and with support from other core stakeholders, may be short-lived afterall, if the findings of a non-governmental outfit -OYOWATCH, is anything to go by.

According to the organization’s latest intel, as revealed by Nicholas Aguatu – its Secretary; intense grumbling seems to be prevalent amongst the teeming Party members, who, through the unity rallies, believed that the party’s internal wranglings in the state were over, but now discouraged with their scrutiny of the composition of those appointed as Senatorial Ambassadors, which it claimed excluded other critical stakeholders/ tendencies in the party.

The report alluded to the emerging scenario whereby Aspirants with baggage of serial electoral failures are now in an unholy alliance to usurping the leadership of the party, which they feared may dim the chances of victory for the party in the state,  come 2027.

While majority of them expressed their readiness to ensure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term Renewed Hope Agenda in 2027, same may not be the case for the governorship and other elections in the state.

It warned of a repeat of what happened to the party in the last Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye- election, which some believed was traceable to an Aspirant declaring himself as the defacto Leader of the party in the state.
