Niger Delta ex-militant, Endurance Amagbein, has emphasised the need for grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Amagbein, the self-styled General, gave the advice in a statement he made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said if President Tinubu must win the presidential poll, the focus of all pro-APC groups should be on reaching out to the grassroots.
He said the core of every successful political support foundation is to mobilise support from the nooks and crannies, by giving people reasons to support their candidate.
According to him, “this is my agenda.”
The ex-agitator, fondly called Adaka Boro the Second, said he had sustained an unwavering grassroots support for the Renewed Hope Agenda in the past few years by reaching out to communities and friends in the APC and other parties.
“This will culminate to a massive vote for president Bola Tinubu,” he said.
He said he and his supporters would replicate their teaming rallies and grassroots programmes birthed since the 2023 general elections ahead of the 2027 elections.
Amagbein said for all the programmes, policies and other good works the president had done in the Niger Delta through the Renewed Hope Agenda, he was hopeful that the president would pull at least 97 per cent of the overall votes in the Niger Delta.
However, he urged stakeholders not to leave anything to chance.
“Hence, every Tinubu lover needs to sustain the tempo and redouble efforts to ensure it is Tinubu all the way,” he added.
The ex-militant leader also distanced himself from political maneuverings that had resulted in what he described as “capturing sacred traditional institutions,” which was designed to raise traditional platforms to overawe the Federal Government in sustaining their selfish political gains.
Amagbein alleged that Ijaw traditional stools and platforms had been politicised by same self-styled ‘Government’; thereby making them not to speak truth to power when it matters most.
He stressed that one individual should not be allowed to hijack the common struggle of the Ijaws through systematic support to preferred candidates in the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) and Ijaw National Congress (INC) merely to weaponise the traditional stools against fellow Ijaws, all in the name of politics.
Despite the challenges, Amagbein reiterated his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda and promised to continue working independently for Tinubu’s reelection.
He said even if his fellow Ijaw brothers decide to downplay his good works for the administration of the president Tinubu, he remains committed to working for the government of the day, and he strongly believes that the fruits of his grassroots mobilisation shall bear results at the 2027 elections.
Amagbein said he doesn’t know how to abandon anything he has committed himself to, hence, his support for the Tinubu-led administration is unwavering.
