Senate screens new NAHCON Chairman/CEO

The Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs on Tuesday,8th October, 2024 screened Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman for the post of Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

Professor Usman was appointed to the position by President Bola Tinubu on 19th August 2024, subject to Senate confirmation.

The  Presidency in the  statement announcing his appointment described him as “a renowned scholar and well-grounded in hajj operations, having served as the chairman of Kano State Pilgrim’s Board, and successfully superintended the operations of the largest quota of state pilgrims in the country.”

The statement added that “The President expects the new chairman of NAHCON to discharge his duties with integrity, transparency, and utmost fidelity to the nation.”
