The Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Sale Usman is back in the country from Official Pre-Hajj Visit to Saudi Arabia.

He arrived the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, on Thursday, 2nd of October, 2025.
Professor Sale Usman was warmly received by the NAHCON Kano Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Umar Kalgo and his team.

The NAHCON Chairman along with some Commissioners, and Secretary to the Commission Dr. Mustapha M. Ali  travelled  to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Monday, 22nd September 2025, to finalize agreements with relevant service providers in preparation for the 2026 Hajj.

While in Saudi Arabia, the NAHCON Chairman/CEO signed contracts with Mashariq Dhahabiyya and Daleel Al Muaalem as the two service providers to serve the Nigerian Pilgrims during 2026 Hajj. Mashariq Dhahabiyya will provide
services at Masha’ir while Daleel will provide transport for the Nigerian pilgrims throughout the hajj period.

Professor Sale Usman’s trip was in conformity with the operational calendar released by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MoHU) which specified that from 6th – 23rd September 2025 (15–29 Safar 1447H) is the period for early contracting and payment for Mashair (camps). The timeline similarly announced 23rd – 24th September 2025 (1–2 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1447H) as the deadline for contracting of essential services such as transportation and accommodation.

The MoHU has also set 12th October 2025 (20 Rabi’ al-Thani 1447H) as Deadline for Pilgrims’ Registration announcement and submission of pilgrims’ data for grouping via the Nusuk platform.

In that respect, NAHCON has
fixed 8th October 2025 as the deadline for States Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies, and Commissions, as well as licensed Hajj Tour Operators, to remit Hajj fares for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

NAHCON has equally announced the Hajj Fare for 2026 Hajj season
after due consultations with all the relevant stakeholders, including the Forum of States leadership and obtaining the approval of the Federal Government.

Pilgrims from Maiduguri Yola Zone (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa and Taraba) are paying N8,118,33.67 and other Northern States  N8,244,813.67. Those in Southern States are paying N8,561,013.67.

When compared with what was charged for the 2025 Hajj, each pilgrim for the 2026 Hajj exercise
is paying an average of two hundred thousand naira less.
