The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has congratulated Professor Yusut Olaolu Ali, SAN, on his acceptance of the conferment of an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D) Honoris Causa by Crescent University, Abeokuta.
The proposed conferment is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, during the university’s 18th Convocation Ceremony.
In a congratulatory message on Monday, 28th September, 2026 jointly signed by Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, President and Professor Wole Abbas, Executive Secretary,
MUSWEN described the honour as a recognition of Ali’s longstanding contributions to the legal profession, education, scholarship and the development of society.
The organisation said the conferment was particularly significant because of Ali’s distinguished career as a legal practitioner and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, as well as his contributions to the advancement of knowledge and public discourse.
The Muslim umbrella organisation in the South-West said the recognition of Ali by Crescent University was a source of pride to the Muslim community and an acknowledgement of the value of excellence, service and intellectual contribution.
MUSWEN prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to grant the legal luminary wisdom, good health and strength to contribute even more to the development of the legal profession, education and the wider society.
The organisation also congratulated Crescent University for honouring Ali, describing the proposed conferment as an important occasion that would further celebrate distinguished Nigerians who have made notable contributions to their fields and communities.
