...equipping teenagers with lifelong skills
The Movement for Islamic Culture and Awareness (MICA) has announced the successful completion of its inaugural Teen Haus “Building the Bridges 1.0” program, a two-day immersive experience designed to empower teenagers with the confidence, resilience, and values needed to thrive in today’s world.
Executive Secretary of MICA, Mr. Abdulhameed Danmole, on Saturday stated that “At MICA, we believe teenagers aren’t just the leaders of tomorrow, they are changemakers today. Through Teen Haus, we are creating safe, creative, and faith-anchored spaces where young people can learn, grow, and lead with confidence.”
The program brought together 25 teenagers aged 15-18 and combined interactive online sessions on financial literacy, emotional resilience, and confidence-building with practical workshops in public speaking, creative writing, and digital literacy. The initiative was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, reflected in strong attendance, active participation, and glowing feedback from both parents and participants.
Parents lauded the project as “an investment in the future generation,” while participants highlighted newfound self-confidence, faith-driven clarity, and strengthened communication skills as key takeaways. Building on the momentum, MICA has announced plans for Teen Haus Stage Two, where participants will engage with seasoned facilitators and mentors for deeper skill-building.
MICA is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing faith, excellence, and leadership in individuals and communities. By combining Islamic values with practical life skills, MICA provides programs such as MICAFloor discussions, Katibah retreats, and the Teen Haus initiative, offering platforms for meaningful growth, reflection, and empowerment.
