INEC declares Biodun Oyebanji winner of Ekiti guber poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Saturday,
June 20, 2026, Ekiti State governorship election. 

The Returning Officer, Professor Adenike Oladiji, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, announced the final results early Sunday morning in Ado-Ekiti after collation across all 16 local government areas. 

The Election Results, as declared are:

Biodun Oyebanji (APC) 319,224 votes

Wole Oluyede (PDP) 40,543 votes

Oluwadare Bejide( ADC) 12,872 votes

Accredited Voters: 384,940
Total Valid Votes: 375,777
Rejected Votes: 6,332 

With this official announcement by INEC, Governor Oyebanji has secured his second term in office.
