Prof. Saheed Ahmad Rufai is a distinguished Curricularist, Pedagogue, and Development Education Strategist with over two decades of professional experience in academia and the development sector. He has taught at the University of Lagos, Lagos State University, and Sokoto State University, and holds three doctoral degrees in Curriculum and Pedagogy, Comparative Literature, and History and Civilization/Security Studies. He joined Sokoto State University as a Senior Lecturer in 2014 and has served as Head of the Department of Curriculum Studies and Dean of the Faculty of Education.
An accomplished academic and educational leader, Prof. Rufai has made significant contributions to curriculum development, programme design, research, and institutional growth. He has led major academic initiatives, including the expansion of academic programmes in the Faculty of Education and the organisation of Sokoto State University’s first International Conference on Education.
His scholarly record includes over one hundred publications, alongside editorial, reviewing, and consultancy roles with several reputable national and international academic outlets.
Prof. Rufai is also an accomplished multilingual scholar and international education expert who has worked with organisations such as UNESCO, the Islamic Development Bank, the African Union, and the United Nations Population Fund.
He has served as an education consultant, external examiner, translator, and academic expert across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Through his remarkable contributions to curriculum studies, education, research, and international development, Prof. Rufai continues to make an outstanding impact within academia and beyond.
