The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Screening Committee, seating at the Kaduna Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, screened and cleared Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) as the party’s consensus candidate for Ogun State in the 2027 general elections.
The panel commended Senator Yayi’s developmental record and party loyalty.
Members of the committee present included Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, Deputy National Publicity Secretary; Hon. Dayo Abdullahi Israel, National Youth Leader; and Hon. Tolu Bankole, National Leader for Persons With Disabilities.

restated his pledge to build on the progressive reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to deepen development across Ogun State.
He was accompanied by a high-powered delegation led by Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Deputy Governor of Ogun State, alongside Hon. Kayode Amusan, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat (GACO), Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan, Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon. Kunle Adeyemi, Hon. Babatunde Adejare, Hon. Otunba Kunle Otun, Kope and other senior government officials and some other stakeholders from Ogun State.
