United States President Donald J. Trump has caused a major diplomatic outrage following his snide remarks directed against French President Emmanuel Macron saying he was yet recover from the slap he recieved from his wife during a now famous public spat.
Trump during an event on April 1 while criticizing NATO leaders for not joining the US in its war against Iran said : We didn’t need them, but I asked anyway. I call up France, [Emmanuel] Macron – whose wife treats him extremely badly. Still recovering from the right to the jaw.”
Trump was referring to a 2025 incident that showed the French President Emmanuel Macron’s wife Brigitte,pushing him in the face as they prepared to get off a plane in Vietnam.
The video, shot by an Associated Press camera operator, shows the French president appearing in the doorway of the plane at the start of a visit to Hanoi. His wife’s hand appears to shove him, causing him to step back before recovering and waving.
French Newspaper Le Monde Reports that
On Thursday, April 2 Macron said that Trump’s comments about his marriage were “neither elegant nor up to standard.”
The Newspaper reports further that French politicians, including some of Macron’s opponents, were outraged by Trump’s attack. “Honestly, it’s not up to par,” said Yael Braun-Pivet, president of France’s lower house of parliament. “We are currently discussing the future of the world. Right now in Iran, this is having consequences for the lives of millions of people, people are dying on the battlefield, and we have a president who is laughing, who is mocking others,” she told the broadcaster Franceinfo.
Trump is deranged president. Satan has touched him. He said “I don’t think I can make it to heaven”.
