Head of Service takes stock of fire incident at Federal Secretariat Complex

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has conducted an assessment visit to the scene of a fire incident that occurred this morning, Monday, 9th March 2026, at the Federal Secretariat Complex,3 Phase II, Abuja.

The outbreak, which was detected in the early hours, affected the 4th Floor of Block C, housing the National Board for Technology Incubation, according to a press statement by Mrs. Eno Olotu, Director, Press and Public Relations
Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

Eno said the building’s emergency protocols were immediately activated upon the discovery of the fire incident.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Walson-Jack, while conducting  an on-the-spot assessment of the scene, commended the Federal Fire Service and all emergency responders for their promptness and efficiency in containing the situation.

She assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the immediate cause of the fire to avert future occurrence and also assess the structural integrity of the building.

Eno, spokesperson of the Office further said in the press statement that “Following the containment of the fire, necessary precautionary measures have been implemented to secure the affected area. A comprehensive assessment is currently underway to ascertain the extent of the damage to the property.”

She added that “The Office wishes to confirm that no casualties were recorded as a result of the incident, and all staff members on the affected floor were safely evacuated without injury. The safety and well-being of all civil servants and visitors remain our foremost priority.”
