The Ologotun of Ogotun Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Adesanmi Alademeso and the entire Ologotun-in-council on Friday expressed deep shock and sadness on the passage of a great community leader, philanthropist and moral compass, retired Justice Edward Adepoju Ojuolape.
Ojuolape, a former Acting Chief Judge of Old Ondo State (comprising Present Ondo and Ekiti States ) died two days ago at the ripe age of 98.
Speaking on the death of the great community leader,who in retirement later became the leader of the PDP Elders Forum, Oba Ademeso expressed deep sorrow over his passage, describing his transition as a peaceful departure to eternal glory of a highly cerebral jurist and deeply loved community leader.
In a heartfelt condolence message, the paramount ruler further extolled the virtues of the late jurist, whom he described as a pillar of wisdom, integrity, and unwavering dedication to service.
The entire Ologotun in council is saddened by this demise, the royal father said. According him, the late judge was a man of exemplary character, simplicity and dedication who left an indelible legacy of service not only to his family, community but also to the two states of Ondo and Ekiti states and the nation at large, particularly through his significant contributions to legal jurisprudence .
Reflecting on the remarkable life of the late legal luminary, Oba Adebayo Ademeso said , “His life was a testament to the values he upheld, and his impact will remain etched in the hearts of all who knew him especially in Ogotun Ekiti, his hometown . May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”
Born on May 17, 1927, Hon. Justice Ojuolape answered the divine call on January 16, 2025, at the extraordinary age of 98. His life and legacy will forever serve as a beacon of inspiration to generations to come, the royal father said.
