UNILORIN Vice Chancellor elected Secretary General of Association of West African Universities

at the 8th Conference and 10th Annual General Meeting of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU) in the Gambia.”

Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Prof Wahab Egbewole has been elected the Secretary General of the Association of West African Universities (AWU).

The election of Egbewole, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and Professor of Law took place
at the 8th Conference and 10th Annual General Meeting of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU) in the Gambia.

The Conference and AGM were hosted by the University of The Gambia between 18th and 20th January, 2023.

Others elected were Prof Johnson Nyarko Boampong, Vice Chancellor of University of the Cape Coast, Ghana as the Chairman, Prof Herbert Robinson, Vice-Chancellor, University of The Gambia as the Vice-chairman and Prof Akeem Olawale Lasisi, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orangun as the Financial Secretary.

The executive was elected for a three year tenure.
