Troops restore free transport of goods from North to South, take control of Kaduna -Jeba road


The Defence Headquarters has urged members of the public and commuters along Kaduna/Jeba road to go about their normal business without fear.

A statement signed by the Acting Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, stated that troops of the Nigeria military have taken charge of the situation and restored normalcy along the Kaduna/ Jeba road.


The statement further noted that the Defence Headquarters was notified of a video trending on social media indicating that trucks and other similar vehicles conveying agricultural products from the North, to the southern part of the country were being prevented and turned back along Kaduna – Jebba road by some unscrupulous elements.

According to the statement, joint troops comprising the military and other security agencies were deployed to clear the road and normalcy have since been restored in the general area and free flow of traffic along the axis.

The statement warned any unscrupulous group or persons who are aiming to disrupt legitimate economic and commercial activities by preventing free flow of traffic and movement of goods in a bid to generate clashes along ethnic divides to desist from such unpatriotic acts or face the wrath of the law.

The statement further urged members of the public to promptly report anyone found engaging in such atrocious activities to security operatives.
