REVIEW OF NAHCON’S WEEKLY SPONSORED THIRTY MINUTES HAUSA PROGRAMME “HAJJ MABRUR” AIRED ON FRCN KADUNA

The presenter of the program Bello Bala Bungudu who introduces the program as being brought by the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) under the leadership of Alh. Zikirullah Kunle Hassan. The purpose of the program according to the presenter is to help the pilgrims attain Hajj Mabrur.

Two main issues are discussed in the program that is the establishment if Anti-corruption unit in the commission and two, the establishment of Hajj Savings Scheme.

As the policy thrust of the current Government under President Muhammadu Buhari is to fight corruption in all its facets. The fight is therefore extended down to government ministries, parastatals and agencies.

As part of this effort, that is why the current leadership of NAHCON institutes ACTU unit to specially checkmate and fight for any act of corruption or financial malpractices.

 

In this week edition, the program has discussed the Constitution of Anti-corruption and Transparency unit (ACTU) and Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS). The presenter features NAHCON’s Head of Public Affairs in the Chairman’s office in person of Haj. Fatima Sanda Usara who discusses that the commission has introduced ADASHEN GATA which means “Hajj Saving Scheme” in collaboration with Jaiz Bank October 2020. Ever since the commission has been embarking on massive publicity to ensure the scheme reaches all the nooks and crannies of the nation. The commission also launches the program in some states like Kaduna, Kano, Ilorin and Lagos state and will later move on to other states. Lastly, she says the scheme will enable both low- and average-income earners to pay for their Hajj comfortably.

Furthermore, Alh. Aliyu Aminu Bashir of NAHCON’s Procurement Department also discusses the activities of the committee in the commission on how to tackle corruption at all levels in the commission, saying the anti-corruption and transparency unit which is set up under the I. C. P. C. in NAHCON. The committee is mapping its strategie0s to ensure that erring officers are punished accordingly and honest and dedicated officers are also recognized for their honesty.
