Police block market road in protest of unpaid allowances in Katsina 


There was a slight unrest in Batsari Local Government of Katsina state on Thursday morning orchestrated by protests of the officers of the Nigeria Police Force over their unpaid allowances, Katsina Post learned.


According to our source, Taskar Labarai, the angry police officers took to the streets and blocked a major road linking to the major Batsari market therefore preventing people from accessing it.

This, according to our source, took some time before the army arrived the scene and removed the road blockage – action that provoked the police which caused exchange of verbal abuses before the intervention of the district head of Batsari, Alhaji Tukur Muazu Rumah.

The Police command in Katsina State are yet comment on the issue.

Batsari Local Government of Katsina state is one of the frontline LGAs affected by the issue of insecurity of kidnappings and banditry.
