Ogun monarch lauds Abiodun’s intervention in council primary crisis

Ahead of next month’s local council election in Ogun State, the traditional ruler of Ijebu-Ife in Ijebu-East Local Council of the state, Oba Adesesan Oguntayo, has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for intervening in the council’s crisis.

 

He said: “Although there was rancour in the build-up to the party’s primary on who becomes the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate, we are grateful to God and the governor that all misunderstandings among the aspirants and other gladiators have now been resolved in favour of Wale Adedayo, since it is the turn of Ijebu-Ife to produce the next chairman of the council.”

Oguntayo, who spoke during a reception to mark his 25th anniversary on the throne as the Ajalorun of Ijebu-Ife, urged voters in the council to vote for Adedayo.

In his response, Adedayo said education, healthcare, infrastructural development, empowerment generation and security would be focus of his administration.

In the same vein, the Ogun State APC Publicity Secretary, Tunde Oladunjoye, has charged all the councillorship candidates in the party to work for the success of APC in Ijebu-East Local Council and be ready to support the governor on his agenda to build future together.

He stated this in Abeokuta when the councillorship candidates paid him a courtesy visit in company of the Ijebu East Local Government Party Chairman, Otunba Balogun Adebayo.

Oladunjoye, urged the candidates to in the spirit of sportsmanship embrace those who Contested against them in order promote peace and cohesion in the part.

While congratulating to who emerged as party flag bearers he urged to go back home and work for the success of the party at the next elections. “You must be loyal to our great party, respect your leaders, embraced those who contested against you and join our leader and governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in his building our future together agenda”, Oladunjoye said
